Antica Irish Jewellery is a beautiful contemporary collection of gold and silver plated Jewellery inspired by the Irish Antique Jewellery collections of the past. Each piece is beautifully crafted and presented making it a wonderful gift and souvenir of Ireland. Antica is designed, packaged and marketed in the medieval town of Athenry, Co. Galway. Athenry is located on the outskirts of Galway City and began its existence in 1238 when the 2nd Baron of Athenry erected a castle. The castle consists of a towering keep surrounded by a curtain wall with three tower. Athenry became a walled town in the 14 century most of the original town wall, which was surrounded by a moat is still standing. It’s in these historic and beautiful surroundings that the idea to create an affordable jewellery collection celebrating Ireland's history, romance and beauty first began
